Thunder and Lightning hits Greater Manchester overnight
The sky flickered and roared above Manchester as a lighting storm hit in the early hours of Saturday. Flashes were followed by deafening thunder at around 4am when the worst of the weather swept through the city, waking people in their beds.
Heavy rain and humid conditions were the flavour of the evening and early hours of the morning.
It's not over yet either. Torrential rain is set to batter parts of the region on Saturday, and the Met Office have issued a severe weather alert for Greater Manchester.
